Some other great news is that our ISO9001:2008 accreditation has been approved again. It is a lot of work but proves our ongoing commitment to our Quality System and is a vital part of our operating procedures.

We’re also delighted that our commitment to social responsibility and the environment has been recognised as we’ve received the Social Responsibility and Environmental Award at the Warrington Business Awards.

Croft supplies filters to global leader

We’ve been selected by Biwater International to supply industrial filters to help them deliver a diverse range of water systems and applications.

We’ve supplied a varied range of filters across the world for Biwater International for several applications, including a project in Sudan where our stainless steel woven wire mesh is used for the filtering and grading of sand. In addition, our wedge wire screen panels have been shipped to Nigeria for use in a water application where large pieces of material are filtered to help avoid blockages.

Biwater International has designed and constructed water and wastewater treatment plants and leisure facilities, provided consultancy services and operated water systems for millions of people in over 90 countries. The company’s diverse businesses can take care of anything from providing a piped water supply to 4.2 million inhabitants in Malaysia, to constructing a sewage treatment works in Abu Dhabi.

Croft passes quality test with flying colours

Our ISO9001:2008 accreditation, first awarded to us in October 2001, has been approved again following an audit of our Quality Management System.

The audit found that we demonstrated ongoing commitment and support to our Quality System and that our documentation and records are easy to follow and maintained to a good standard.

The report also identified that ‘the company’s housekeeping was found to be exemplary, particularly at workshop level’ and that ‘it is obvious that the management team and staff take a great deal of pride and care in what they do’.

The audit process was based on random sampling. During the assessment all of our people were contacted and were found to be ‘confident about their work and demonstrated commitment to the audit process’ and the auditors commented that they ‘are confident that the company’s customers will receive products in a “Quality Assured” environment’.

The auditors were also impressed by our commitment to customer issues which was demonstrated by good customer feedback and the fact that we won an award for Customer Care in the 2008 Warrington Business Awards and a further award for Social Responsibility and the Environment in 2009.

Croft scoops top accolade at Warrington Business Awards

Our commitment to social responsibility and the environment has been recognised by the Warrington Business Awards.

We received the Social Responsibility and Environmental Award at the ceremony held at the Park Royal Hotel in Stretton towards the end of 2009.

Across the company, we have a strong sense of environmental and social responsibility and this is what impressed the judges. In our workshop, packaging is recycled with very little material actually sent to scrap and often re-used in a different capacity. In addition, our customers are actively encouraged to re-mesh filters rather than replace.

The Croft Interchange initiative is our newest service. It has been introduced as many companies spend thousands of pounds every year on throwaway filters, a wasteful practice that draws on more resources and harms the environment. Under the scheme we assess whether there is an opportunity to supply a metal filter to do the same job, which can be cleaned, refurbished and then reused.

As far as sourcing new materials is concerned, we are committed to buying quality materials with mesh sourced from Europe only.

We recycle as much office waste as possible and even have area for produce with potatoes, lettuce and tomatoes currently growing in a small garden!

In addition we are dedicated to supporting the local community and are major sponsors of the Croft Carnival. In addition, the local Air Cadets have also benefited financially as have both the Guides and Scouts with the use of our company van.

We're recruiting

We’re looking to expand our product and service offering to current and new clients and are seeking a Technical Sales Manager with chemistry/chemical engineering qualifications (relevant industry-based experience considered) with knowledge of filtration products for industrial applications.
 
With an initial focus on oily waste water, nuclear waste and high solids applications, the role would expand to include ultra filtration using membranes and other media.
